Welcome to Ferme Urbaine (urban farm). The original goal of this website was to follow our urban farm project in Brittany, France….now we are in the process of creating our farm we will use the site to publish details of our agricultural visits around the world.
In the section Our Visits you find information about our various agriculture related trips both in France and abroad. We have travelled as far as the USA and Quebec to visit farms of interest….you’ll find everything from fruit farming to biodynamics, aquaponics and permaculture. We also got down and dirty at Growing Power in the USA, one of the most famous urban farms in the world. You can read all about it here.
Some of the trips were taken as part of our agricultural training at the Lycee Gros Chene in Pontivy, others were made possible through the Groupement des Agriculteurs Biologiques (Organic Farmers Group…or GAB for short!) here in the Morbihan.
Our wish is to communicate that small to medium sized organic farms are the most important to the food system. They are also the most profitable. Our philosophy is simply to share information and know-how.
